St. John's UCC is a liturgical church that uses a variety of traditional and contemporary worship orders and follows certain forms for its sacraments and rites. Worship is enhanced by three choirs, soloists, instrumentalists, chancel drama, and sacred dance.

Children and youth are an important part of our worship and they frequently participate in our services. Children's sermons are a regular part of our worship.Preaching, while biblically based, seeks to relate the gospel to contemporary issues and problems of daily living. St. John's Church emphasizes a ministry style that reflects a concern for people, an outreach to youth and children, an interest in developing its social consciousness,   and a strong desire to be a witness to Christ's presence in the community and in the lives of its people. It seeks to live by its credo of Being the Christ to One Another.

Our church is noted for its innovation and creativity as evidenced by its extensive music program, three choirs and ensembles. Its concern for developing the spiritual life of individuals is seen in its prayer and meditation groups, Bible studies, Encounter class, varied groups and activites, and its It has an active Healing Ministry program. St. John's is an eclectic congregation of nearly 600 members with more than half of its recent members coming from traditions other than the United Church of Christ. This diversity has enriched the congregation with an openness and receptivity that is unique in the area, while at the same time being rooted in the faith and values of its Pennsylvania-German heritage.

St. John's looks to a challenging future of deepening its spiritual life, nurturing its youth and adults in the faith, working for peace and justice in society, and being the Christ to each other.
