Consistory continues researching and reflecting on the future return to, “in-person worship.”  Berks County entered Covid19 green status June 26th.

Green status does not mean a return to the pre-Covid19 “normal,” we knew in March.  Green permits 50% capacity with continued restrictions such as: mandatory mask wearing, social distancing, the removal of all common items such as hymnals and bibles, no singing or communal reading, sterilization of all surfaces and much more.

President Ziegenfus has spoken on this matter during pervious zoom worship services.  If you have questions, please forward them to any member of Consistory or the church office.

2020 Time & Talent Sheets:  Please complete as best you can.  When you’ve finished, use the enclosed, stamped addressed envelope to return it to the church office.   Thank you!

Several members will provide grocery store or pharmacy runs for members.  Others are sewing masks.  Call or Email the office if you would like to take part in these ministries or if you have need of these services.

If you or someone in your family or neighborhood is in need of food or supplies, urge them to call Friend, Inc. at 610-683-7790.  Friend is located at 658D Noble Street.

Friend, Inc. is in need of donations.  See our church web site for needed items and the method for safe delivery to Friend.

Due to the pandemic, Pastor Sanders’ access to members at home, in hospital or care facilities is prohibited.  Families in need are encouraged to reach out to Pastor Sanders via Emails and phone calls to the church office.

Email and phone messages for the Pastor and secretary are being monitored daily by the secretary.

Please continue sending your weekly, generous, financial gifts to the church address.  Mail is being collected daily.  Two of our income streams, our renters and candy production, has been compromised due to the pandemic.  Your gifts each week sustain the mission, staff, ministries and programs of St. John’s.  Thank you!

2020 Science Explorer Camp will take place as a virtual experience this summer.

Spread the word to family and friends.

Take care and check in on vulnerable neighbors daily.  Christ calls each of us to be an Easter in this Good Friday world.  Our light and hope are needed by our neighbors now, more than ever before.

Shine St. John’s disciples!  Be a light and a blessing to all!

Pastor Sanders
